The past probably didn’t smell as bad as we tend to think, but there are certainly exceptions. European cities, for example, tended to be quite, shall we say, fragrant in the Middle Ages. To combat this unpleasantness, many people wore perfume holders around their necks — a trend that’s coming back in fashion.

Fact of the Day

Pigeons can be trained to tell art apart.
By Bennett Kleinman
If you ever see a pigeon wandering the halls of the Met, it’s likely it flew in from the outside and got lost. However, the pigeon may also be there to admire the museum’s world-class paintings, as these birds can be trained to recognize and discern between different artistic styles.

In 1995, a team at Japan’s Keio University led by professor Shigeru Watanabe examined this behavior. They showed 10 cubist works by Pablo Picasso and 10 impressionist pieces by Claude Monet to two groups of pigeons, rewarding one group with food if they pecked upon seeing a Picasso and the other for reacting to a Monet. Watanabe eventually deduced that the groups could pick out paintings in whichever style earned them treats with impressive accuracy. The pigeons continued to display an ability to discern between artworks when they were later shown pieces by other artists in each genre.

The first zippers were for shoes.

Though they’re now commonly found on everything from jackets to couch cushions, zippers were originally meant to be an alternative to shoelaces. Inventor Whitcomb Judson filed a patent for a zipper-like mechanism he called a “clasp-locker” in 1893, but his creation — designed specifically for shoes — never caught on. Success came later, helped in part by the U.S. Navy.

Atlantic Puffins are able to hunt deep in the ocean. Most of their hunting takes place between the ocean’s surface and 50 feet below it, however, they can go even deeper and are capable of diving to depths of about 200 ft. in search of food. They eat mostly fish and crustaceans.

I tried this a while back after watching a video of women and men trying this. I really didn't think it was true, lol.
There is two other things, one is stepping over a broom that you hold onto in front of you and step over it, only women are suppose to this.
The other one is leaning up against a wall...but I done forgot what is suppose to be done, I think, its to lift the other leg that isn't against the wall, but IDK 🤦‍♀️

And this is how it SHOULD BE

Just pay me for the work. . I hate self checkouts. Its a step closer to getting scanned as you walk. Like what all Sams stores are getting ready to do...grrr. No checkouts lanes, you scan items in your phone and walk underneath a scanning eye... i hate this !!!
