Candy corn was originally called ‘Chicken Feed.’
| Candy corn may be the most maligned confectionary — it’s rare that the tricolored treat ever tops the list of beloved Halloween candies. Yet somehow it returns with flair each fall, an unyielding symbol of the season. While the waxy, triangular kernels have essentially remained the same since their creation in the 1880s, one thing has changed about candy corn: its name. | |

I don't blame the AI, I blame the person who put in the prompt to the AI not checking the output before posting. So why is it coming out of its MOUTH? I suspect AI is hard at work again.

Jack-o’-lanterns come from an Irish myth about a man named Stingy Jack.
| No matter what face you carve into your Halloween pumpkin, it will probably be called the same thing: a jack-o’-lantern. But how did spooky illuminated squash get that name? Turns out, the term we use to describe glowing pumpkins comes from Stingy Jack, the main character in a centuries-old Irish myth about making deals with the devil. | |

| Black cats can 'rust' if they spend too much time in the sun. | |
| By Michael Nordine | |
| If a black cat ever crosses your path, don’t be scared — be curious as to whether their fur has changed color. This is called “rusting,” and it happens when they spend so much time in the sun that portions of their coat take on a brown, orange, or even reddish tint. The pigment responsible for black fur is called eumelanin, and it isn’t especially hardy: Repeated exposure to ultraviolet rays causes it to break down and lose its dark hue. The change can also be caused by an amino acid deficiency, but this is less common. Rusting is also easier to spot in direct sunlight, meaning these kitties will remain as spooky as ever under cover of darkness. | |
