He's home, but connected to a device that assists his heart for the rest of his life. It needs constant electricity and he can leave the house with a battery pack. Not the kind of life I would want to live, but it will give him and my wife's sister more time together. Without it he would have probably died shortly. Pretty much the right side of his heart is not working without this assistance. They will be getting a backup generator for their house so they have electricity when there's a black out.

Wow I am sorry to hear that, that would make life tough. Yes I would definitely get a generator and ASAP from all I have have been hearin.
Keepin him in my prayers (have since you told us he was goin for surgery)
