Okay I have to say something, and this is not political. I have nothing against Muslims, and have known many who are very fine people.
But Muslims do not worship Mohammed, so "one nation under Mohammad" would have been proposed by an ignoramus, or someone who wanted to stir controversy. I don't know who proposed it.
Top of the Muslim creed: "There is only one god, and Muhammad is his prophet."
[Quran 2:136] "We believe in God; and in what was revealed to us; and in what was revealed to Abraham, and Ishmael, and Isaac, and Jacob, and the Patriarchs; and in what was given to Moses and Jesus; and in what was given to the prophets—from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we surrender."
So "one nation under God" fits all of those referred to as "people of the book", Christians, Muslims and Jews. I don't know what it does for Hindus and Buddhists, of which we have plenty in the US, but the original pledge of allegiance had no religion in it:
"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
