Happy Feast Day of San Francesco d’Assisi

Born in Assisi in the late 12th century, Saint Francis gave up a life of comfort to live in poverty, serve others and devote himself completely to God.
He became known for his humility, compassion, love of creation and commitment to peace, eventually founding the Franciscan Order.
San Francesco would go on to become one of the most beloved saints in the world and was later named a patron saint of Italy. More than 800 years later, his message of faith, simplicity, kindness and service still resonates with millions.
San Francesco d’Assisi, prega per noi.

St. Francis was disgusted by the wars called the "Crusades", which he fought in. He felt he saw nothing there about Christian faith, but only hubris, greed, butchery. As a true Christian believer, it shaped his future intent to live and teach humility, generosity, God's love. He founded a holy order based on these values.

When I was feeding all the birdies, the raccoons became too many. They were getting into everything, destroying feeders including hummingbird feeders, just too many had to quit feeding the birdies. Actually found one feeder on top of my homes roof, lol.
But, they were so very entertaining to watch especially trying to take a bath in the birdies bath, lol. It was too small for them, but so funny watching them trying to bathe.
