open cancer Q&A with Dr. Jason Miller!

We’re bringing this back, Jim, and I couldn’t be more excited to be doing it!

As you know, or should know by now (I’m not the best at promoting our own services…), our Going Integrative Plus program features live Q&A calls with the best integrative cancer doctors in the world (and me :) )…

where regular people get to ask whatever they’re struggling with, and get an answer from someone who REALLY knows what they’re talking about…

which is what I would have given ANYTHING for when we were going through everything with Ryder and I was trying to sort through mountains of information…

which is why we made it. :)

Although it’s a private membership, we used to open calls up every once in a while to our broader community to let you in on the fun (and see what you’re missing!)…

but we stopped a while back, and I’m honestly not sure why. :)

Either way, we’re bringing it back this week with one of my all-time favorite practitioners, Dr. Jason Miller!

And I’m not just “saying” he’s one of my favorite practitioners, whenever a friend or family has a problem, he’s one of a very small handful I usually end up pointing them to. :)

So the “webinar” this week won’t be featuring any particular product, but instead will be an opportunity for YOU to ask your most burning cancer question to one of the best integrative cancer doctors in the world!

There is no official registration because this livestream will not be on Zoom; HOWEVER, 👉 this will be the link to the livestream page you’ll click when it’s time to go live.

If you click it NOW, we’ll be sure to send you a reminder when it’s about time to start so you don’t miss it.

(If you don’t click it, no reminder for you :) ).

And be sure to mark your calendar on that note! This Wednesday the 14th at 4pm PT / 7pm ET!

Oh, and BIG NOTE: if you’re already a Going Integrative Plus email, you’ll log in as you normally do with the link sent from the GIP+ email address. :)

Excited / see you there!!

Hi Jimi,

“I should be able to handle this myself.”

“Other people have it worse.”

“I have a good life. I shouldn't feel this way.”

“I'm still functioning, so I must be fine.”

“I just need to think more positively.”

Sound familiar?

These are just 5 of the 12 common beliefs that keep people stuck in chronic stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

We tell ourselves we should be stronger. That we don't have time to slow down. That asking for help means we're not coping.

So we keep pushing through.

Even when we're exhausted… Even when our sleep suffers.

Even when the tension, worry, and overwhelm start affecting how we feel every day.

But here's what I want you to remember: You don't have to reach a breaking point to start taking care of yourself.

Making the decision to address your stress isn't a sign of weakness. It's a decision to stop putting your own well-being last.

That's why I created The AWAKEN Process™ and my brand new eBook… 9 Proven, Natural and FREE Ways to Reduce Inflammation, Improve Immune Function, Regulate the Nervous System and Help the Body Heal from Disease

Together, this is a whole-person approach to working with stress, emotional patterns, and the mind-body connection.

If you're ready to explore a different way forward, take the next step by booking your complimentary call and claiming your f.ree gift:

You deserve the same care and attention you give everyone else.

Hey Jim,

We hear two things all the time.

"My doctor said everything looks fine. But I feel like I'm falling apart."

And:

"I'm already on the thyroid meds / the HRT / the antidepressant / the weight-loss injection. It was supposed to fix this. I'm still exhausted. Still foggy. Still not myself."

If either one sounds like you, here's what's going on.

Standard lab work is designed to catch disease. Big, obvious, full-blown disease. It isn't built to catch dysfunction, the quieter drain that can leave you tired and foggy for years.

And a treatment that helps one piece can still leave the others untouched. Cells still struggling. Nervous system still carrying a load. Control center still running off.

I know that gap from both sides. My conventional thyroid labs said fine. Functional labs found what was actually there. Seeing the same thing in clients is what sent me back to school for functional medicine.

On Tuesday, October 20 at 6:00 PM CT, we'll show you what standard testing isn't built to see, and the approach Dr. Bruce and I use with every health participant.

Hey Jimi,

What if one simple, sweet daily snack could help support your gut and ease daily fatigue or joint stiffness?

It sounds almost too easy.

But in a recent study, researchers gave participants two servings of a sweet snack each day.

Within just four days, stool samples showed a measurable increase in beneficial bifidobacteria.

That’s a big deal!

These friendly microbes help:

  • Calm chronic inflammation

  • Support metabolic balance

  • Promote sharper mental focus as we age

So, what is this delicious snack?

You’ll find out on page 88 of Goodness Lover’s brand-new no-cost book:

30 Everyday Foods That Cool “Inflammaging.”

Inside, you’ll also discover ordinary foods linked to improved memory, balanced cholesterol, and natural joint support.

Hey Jimi,

We all know we should probably eat more fruits and vegetables.

But there's a big difference between knowing that...

and actually knowing what to make for dinner.

That's why I wanted to share this with you.

My friend, holistic cancer survivor Chris Wark put together 10 of his favorite juices, smoothies, and meals in a free:

Anti-cancer Recipe Ebook

And here's what I like about it:

The recipes are actually simple. And they look delicious.

No complicated meal plan.

No flavorless “health food.”

Just practical recipes built around colorful, nutrient-dense whole foods that you can start adding to your life right now.

If you're not familiar with Chris, nutrition became such a big part of his life for a reason.

At just 26, he was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes.

After surgery, Chris said no to chemo, radically changed his diet and lifestyle, and immersed himself in researching how others had survived against the odds.

More than 20 years later, he's still here! Healthy and cancer-free.

And he's still passionate about showing people how easy super-healthy eating can be.

Because here's the thing...

You don't need a “perfect” diet.

You need meals you'll actually make.

Meals you'll actually eat and enjoy.

Whether you're currently facing cancer, supporting someone who is, or simply trying to take better care of yourself, this is an easy place to start.

Download Chris's 10 Anticancer Recipes here »

And food is just one part of the bigger picture.

Since 2010, Chris has interviewed hundreds of doctors, reaserchers and people who healed cancer against the odds.

Chris organized this research into a 10-part coaching program called SQUARE ONE.

Normally, this is a paid program.

But Chris is putting the entire program online for FREE this month.

When you request the recipe ebook, you'll also receive an invitation to watch the entire program for free.

Get the recipes + your SQUARE ONE invitation here »

To your health,

Kim

P.S. Eating better doesn't have to mean completely changing your life tomorrow.

Sometimes it starts with finding one new recipe you love and building from there.

Here are ten new recipes to try »

Dear Jimi,

Happy Sunday! Ready to discover something new about your health?

You would not believe what Gwen went through.

She was sixty-six, and she was the one everybody leaned on... bringing up her granddaughter, making her dance costumes, walking the dog twice a day.

Then her son died.

She got through the funeral and most of the wake, then quietly said she felt shaky and went home.

Within the hour, she could not breathe, her heart was pounding, and a pain was spreading into her neck and jaw...

...She spent a week in hospital, six days of it on oxygen.

She buried her son, tried to carry on, but her heart had taken more than it could hold, and that is what the experts call takotsubo, or broken heart syndrome.

Under enough emotional strain, the heart stops pumping the way it should...

...And that alone can tip a person into heart failure with no blockage and nothing wrong on the charts...

...Your heart cannot tell the difference between a physical strain and an emotional one.

Which is why the months after a cardiac scare are so much harder than anyone admits.

The artery gets fixed, the discharge papers get signed, and the fear that comes next is left entirely to you.

Around 1 in 8 heart patients are diagnosed with PTSD afterward, and that fear wears on your arteries the same way a blockage does.

Which is why at Zonia we released a brand-new free guide called "One Specific Exercise to Decrease Cardiac Risk by 20%."

It is one special exercise, done three times a day, and it softens the stiffness in your arteries without a gym, a prescription, or a single thing to buy.

And the guide is only the start of it.

An exclusive online event where 36 of the world's top cardiologists explain how emotional stress affects your heart, and how they treat it.

They will show you:

  • The breathing sequence used by elite forces to bring a racing heart down in about three seconds
  • Why your liver starts making more cholesterol the moment your anxiety spikes
  • The nerve that runs your body's rest-and-digest system, and three ways to switch it on each morning
  • A heart condition that takes 25 years to build and just ten weeks to turn around
It is free to join, and it will not stay open forever...

...But the real reason to be there is that the fear you have carried alone is something these doctors have spent their careers treating.

Can You Exercise Too Much Each Day?

There is a fine line between a healthy fitness habit and a pattern that quietly wears your body down, and most people never see it coming. This article breaks down exactly where that line is and what happens when you cross it.

Quick reminder: The Language of Your Nervous System is tomorrow at 7pm ET / 4pm PT.

If you've done the protocols, the diets, the labs, and the work on your patterns, and you're still not where you want to be, this is the piece that's been missing. Not another thing to try. The layer that decides whether anything you try can land.

Tomorrow, you'll walk away with:

  • Why nothing you've tried has fully landed, so you stop blaming yourself and start working on the layer that decides whether a protocol, a diet, or therapy can work at all.
  • What your nervous system is actually doing right now, and why it was an adaptation, not a failing, so the "what's wrong with me" question finally has a real answer.
  • How to recognize which state you're in from signals you already have (breath, tension, sleep, digestion, speed of thought), so you can catch it while it's happening instead of hours later.
  • Why capacity matters more than calm, and why the same technique can settle one nervous system and push another into shutdown, so you stop using the tools that make your state worse.
  • How learning the language of your nervous system changes everything downstream: when you can identify your state and bring your system back to its baseline, the body finally has the conditions to heal. Digestion that works, sleep that restores, fewer reactions and flares, and a hard day that doesn't take your whole week.
If the fatigue and the fog haven't lifted, if your reaction list keeps getting longer, or if you understand your patterns and they still run you, this was made for you.

🌎 BE THE CHANGE: Have a broken lamp or a favorite sweater with a hole? At Repair Cafés, volunteers help neighbors fix everyday items and learn repair skills along the way. Before replacing something, see whether there’s a repair gathering near you. Check to find out what they can work on.

✨ MAGICAL PLACE: Colorado’s Great Sand Dunes transform at sunset. High elevation, and very little light pollution make this International Dark Sky Park a beautiful place to see the Milky Way above the dunes. A clear, moonless night offers the best view of the stars.

🧠 OPTIMIZED MIND: Pausing is part of learning. In an NIH study, people practicing a typing sequence took 10-second breaks, and researchers detected rapid mental replays of the skill during rest. When you’re practicing something new, try leaving a few quiet pauses between attempts. Patience is a good thing.

✅ TRY THIS WEEK: Pick something you’d enjoy being a beginner at: mending a seam, identifying a bird, or cooking a dish you’ve never made. Give yourself permission to be clumsy. If a small repair sounds appealing, learning alongside someone who knows how can be a good place to start. We all need mentors.

🍽️ RECIPE OF THE WEEK: This lemony red lentil soup combines lentils, vegetables, cumin, and a squeeze of lemon in one pot. Blending part of the soup gives it a creamy texture without cream. Make enough to save a portion for another evening when you’d appreciate having dinner ready.

I was recently in Europe speaking at a health summit, and the jet lag hit me HARD.

Being wide awake in the middle of the night when your body desperately needs sleep gave me an even deeper appreciation for what so many women in perimenopause are dealing with night after night.

  • Maybe you can’t fall asleep.
  • Maybe you fall asleep and wake up at 2 or 3 AM.
  • Maybe you wake up way too early and your brain is suddenly ON, even though your body is exhausted.
Here’s one thing I want you to know:

Those middle-of-the-night wakeups aren’t necessarily random.

Your brain, stress-response system, cortisol rhythm, and calming neurotransmitters all work together to help you sleep. In perimenopause, that system can become more easily activated, making it harder for your brain and body to fully power down and stay there.

And that’s actually good news, because once we understand what’s waking you up, we have a much better idea of what to support.

That’s exactly what we’re getting into during my upcoming live Q&A:

Wide Awake at 3 AM? How to Finally Sleep Through the Night

We’ll cover:

  • Why sleep can suddenly become so much harder in perimenopause
  • What may be behind those 2, 3, and 4 AM wakeups
  • How hormones, cortisol, blood sugar, and your nervous system can all affect your sleep
  • Practical strategies for getting your sleep system back on track
  • How to know when there may be something deeper worth investigating
And bring your questions. We’ll leave plenty of time for live Q&A.

SAVE YOUR SPOT >>

If sleep has become one of the most frustrating parts of this season, come join me. There is a lot more we can do than simply accept it.

Much love,
Dr. Mariza

Hi,

I've always loved incense.

The smell of it in a room, the slow curl of smoke, the way it shifts the feeling of a space.

I never thought of it as something I could make, or as something with medicinal depth behind it.

That changed when I came across Evan Sylliaasen's work. Evan is the founder of the Northwest School of Aromatic Medicine, and for over a decade he's been crafting aromatherapeutic and ritual blends for Higher Mind Incense, one of the most respected producers in the US.

He's offering a free workshop series – the Hand-Crafted Incense Workshop Series – that I think many of you will love.

I don’t wear a lot of makeup in my daily life. But since I’m on camera a lot, I do use mascara, eyeliner, eye shadow, blush, and a little lip color.

When I do wear it, it has to be the cleanest I can find.

And I can tell you: It feels SO good knowing I’m not exposing myself to dangerous ingredients daily.

Mascara sits millimeters from your eyes. Lip products get swallowed all day long.

Most beauty brands still use harmful chemicals. Because they can. Beauty products aren’t well-regulated in the U.S., and many companies prioritize profits over our health.

5 things in a lot of makeup right now:
    • Forever chemicals. In a test of 231 makeup products, 82% of waterproof mascaras and 62% of long-lasting lipsticks showed high levels of a marker for PFAS, linked to hormone disruption and certain cancers. 28 of 29 products tested further didn’t list PFAS on the label.
    • Parabens, siloxanes, and triclosan. Linked to hormone disruption.
    • Heavy metals. Lead turned up in all 400 lipsticks in one federal test.
    • Fragrance and talc. “Fragrance” can hide dozens of undisclosed chemicals. Talc can carry asbestos.
    • Plastic glitter. Tiny flecks of plastic, and microplastics have already turned up in human blood.
That's why I love the brand withSimplicity.

In 2015, their founder spotted glitter from her makeup on her baby’s cheek while rocking him to sleep. She started making her own. Today she’s a Master Esthetician, and withSimplicity still makes everything in small batches in the U.S.

They color their makeup with minerals, clays, and plant ingredients. Their mascara is made with coffee seed oil and chamomile. The lipstick includes Cupuacu butter, a nutrient-packed superfruit from the Amazon.
