I wanted to bring a few early black Friday deals to your attention, Jim…

But first!

TODAY TODAY TODAY

The webinar I’ve been waiting for YEARS for!

As noted in the announcement email the other day, I’ve been quite leery of regular Vitamin D supplement usage for quite some time (though I’m not dogmatically against it entirely, as some are), for reasons I’ll get into more on the webinar…

the biggest one being that we’ve been inherently cautious of taking anything long term that the body should be making on its own…

but there’s no question that getting some extra UV over the winter can be LIFE CHANGING for people in northern regions…

Which is also interesting, as people can REALLY feel better going south for a little while and/or incorporating UV lights…

yet I don’t know about you, but I never “felt” all that different when I was taking Vitamin D over the winter…

but I told myself I was going to keep this announcement short and sweet, so that’s enough discussion for now!

As noted in the last email, while I prefer just getting extra UV-B over the winter, there have been too many drawbacks with UV lights to really get that worked up over them either…

until now!

Deep dive on Vitamin D, UV-B, and
what I consider, at least, to be the most obvious solution TODAY / Wednesday at 3pm PT / 6pm ET…

and you can 👉 sign up to attend + ask questions live / catch the webinar / get the webinar-only deal here!!

Think about the gut advice you have been given over the years.

Cut out gluten. Cut out dairy. Drop the nightshades, the lectins, the sugar, the coffee. Run an elimination diet and add things back one at a time.

It is all subtraction, and it leaves a lot of people eating from a shorter and shorter list of foods, feeling no better than when they started.

The researchers who study the gut microbiome keep arriving at the same conclusion. What seems to matter most is not what you take out, but how many different plants you put in.

Not more food. More kinds of food. Different vegetables, fruits, beans, grains, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices, because each one feeds a different set of bacteria, and a gut with a wide range of bacteria living in it tends to hold up better than one running on the same six ingredients all year.

That argument sits at the heart of The Gut Health & Longevity Summit, online from November 7 to 11. Register today, and the talks already posted are yours to watch right away.

Your host is Dr. Monisha Bhanote, MD, ABOIM, FCAP, CCMS, a physician trained in both pathology and culinary medicine, which is quite a rare pairing. She teaches something she calls the 30-Plant Method, which counts variety across a week instead of counting calories or banning foods.

Across the five days, she and her guests (including yours truly 😊) cover:

  • Why the list of foods you have cut out may be part of the problem
  • How to reach 30 different plants in a week without cooking anything complicated
  • Which everyday foods feed the bacteria you want, and which ones quietly starve them
  • What fermented foods actually do, and where they fit in a normal week
  • Why two people can eat the same meal and feel completely different afterward
There is a version of gut health built on fear. A longer list of things you are not allowed, and dinner with friends that turns into a negotiation.

And there is a version built on range. More color on the plate, more variety across the week, and a gut that has more to work with.

Five days with Dr. Bhanote and her guests make the case for the second one, and you can start on it today.

They're often called adaptogens.

Think ashwagandha, holy basil, and even certain medicinal mushrooms!

But here's where things get really interesting…

What do these ancient remedies have to do with your immune system?

And why are experts taking a closer look at them?

In this eye-opening video…

Several health experts explore these questions and share their perspectives on traditional herbal remedies.

Head here now for my new "Strength Training Over 50" article for you!

I was pretty excited when I read a recent email from a colleague.

Why?

Because he was talking about something I've been saying for years.

And it wasn’t even a chiropractor who said it!

You’ll see what I mean in a second.

He was talking about losing strength as we get older.

You know how it goes.

You hit 50 and boom… you think “of course I’m gonna get weaker.”

It's just part of getting older, right?

Well, maybe not as much as you think.

Yes, walking is good. Stretching is good. Staying active is HUGE.

But there's something else that often gets overlooked.

And this is the part I really liked:

Your alignment matters… probably even more than your muscles!

Think about it.

If your knees cave inward, your feet roll in, or your mid back rounds forward, your body isn't moving as efficiently.

Your joints aren't transferring force as well as they could.

And over time, that affects how strong and stable you feel.

And here's the kicker: these changes often happen so gradually that you don't notice ‘em.

Here's something I see in my office all the time.

I'll show someone how their posture or spinal alignment is off, and they're completely surprised.

Then I'll help them get into a better position.

Their response?

"That feels weird!"

Well, of course it does!

Your brain has gotten so used to the old position that the better one feels “unnatural.”

But that's exactly why alignment matters.

When your joints and spine move into better positions, your body can become more stable and efficient.

You may even feel stronger without adding more muscle.

That's why I want you to check out Robbie Stahl.

He's offering 5 LIVE online fitness classes designed for adults over 50 (there’s no charge for the classes).

They’re based on research involving university professors and more than 1 million documented cases.

And even without all that research, I'd still “align” with what he's showing you.

See what I did there? 😃

Anyway, check out the classes and register here.

First, Christina Applegate has revealed that she was misdiagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

She believed she had MS for more than five years. Then a doctor recently told her that she did not have the disease. But here is what makes this so difficult: her symptoms have not gone away. She is still dealing with debilitating health issues, and now she has to figure out what is actually causing them.

My heart goes out to her. I remember following her journey after she first shared her diagnosis. It is hard to imagine going through years of symptoms, believing you finally have an explanation, and then being told that explanation was wrong.

There is a lesson here that I think everyone should remember: symptoms are clues, not a diagnosis.

A cough, for example, can mean many different things. It could be the flu, or it could be something else. You cannot take one symptom and automatically arrive at an answer. You have to look at the entire picture: the person's history, symptoms, age, circumstances, and test results.

Multiple sclerosis is especially challenging because there is no single diagnostic test that confirms it. Doctors use a combination of clinical findings and testing to determine whether someone meets the criteria. Other conditions can produce symptoms that look very much like MS.

That is why a diagnosis has to be carefully considered. In Christina's case, the fact that she no longer has an MS diagnosis does not mean her symptoms are any less real. Her doctors still have to determine what is happening.

And this is where I want to emphasize the importance of a second opinion.

I believe second opinions are essential when you are dealing with a major diagnosis, whether it is MS, Parkinson's disease, ALS, or another serious condition. Before you move forward, it is reasonable to make sure another physician agrees with the diagnosis.

If that second opinion confirms the first, you can have greater confidence in the path ahead. I feel the same way about invasive procedures. Unless it is an emergency or trauma, getting another opinion is fair. A major diagnosis deserves another look.

Mammograms have been the standard for decades, yet research shows there are concerns:

  • False positives and unnecessary procedures
  • Over-diagnosis and over-treatment
  • Radiation exposure and painful compression
  • Tumors often found years after they start developing
  • Limited accuracy for women with dense breasts

The "concerns" fail to include that mammography causes cancer. Those I have known who went in for the annual mammy ended up with breast cancer, mastectomy and all the horrid conventional cancer treatments. Gawd, The medical racket is so dangerous.

Now, let's bring this closer to home. Dengue fever is becoming a real concern in Florida.

Historically, dengue was not something we typically thought about in the continental United States. We associated it with tropical places like Puerto Rico or Hawaii. But that picture is changing.

In October, the CDC issued a Level 3 emergency response for dengue outbreaks in Florida. At the time of the report, the state had recorded 745 cases, with 425 locally acquired. That represented the largest outbreak in the continental United States since 1935.

There are two reasons I think this shift is important.

First, we live in a global world. People travel to places where dengue is endemic, and they can bring the virus back with them. Second, temperatures have gotten warmer. Conditions that once made it harder for certain mosquitoes to survive in subtropical areas are changing. Those mosquitoes now have more opportunities to breed and transmit disease.

And those mosquitoes are here in Florida.

One of the challenges with dengue is that many people who become infected never know it. Estimates suggest that 70 to 90 percent of infections may have no symptoms. So the cases we see reported may not represent the full number of people who have been infected.

For most people who do not develop symptoms, the infection may pass without them ever knowing they had it. The concern is the smaller group who become seriously ill.

Dengue is sometimes called breakbone fever because the muscle and joint pain can be so intense that people describe it as feeling like their bones are breaking. In some cases, the illness can become severe and lead to complications that require prompt medical attention.

So when people ask whether dengue is really here, the answer is yes. If it is circulating in a large population center like Tampa and the surrounding area, we have to recognize that it is a Florida health concern.

Keep that mosquito repellent handy. It is easy to think about mosquitoes only during the hottest months, but we should not assume the risk disappears as soon as the weather cools.

The last story is about something many of us have experienced: working from home.

A new study published in Science looked at the relationship between remote work, social isolation, and mental health. The findings were particularly notable for people who live alone and have jobs that can be done remotely.

Those workers reported more mental distress and social isolation than people whose jobs require them to be in person. In fact, remote-friendly workers who lived alone spent about 25 percent of their days without social contact, more than twice the rate of people working in jobs that had to be done in person.

This raises a bigger question: why are we so wired for social connection?

We have learned, particularly through research into conditions like Alzheimer's disease, that social connection is a vital part of our lives. We are biologically wired to connect with other people.

When that connection disappears, it can affect us in several ways. We can experience more stress, poorer sleep, and changes in mood. And when that lack of connection becomes persistent, it can contribute to depression, cardiovascular problems, and poorer overall health.

But being alone and being isolated are not necessarily the same thing. What matters is whether you have meaningful connections in your life.

For some people, the workplace provides that connection. It is where they see colleagues, talk with people, and feel part of something. But if you work from home and have a strong social network outside of work, the findings may not apply to you in the same way.

You do not necessarily have to go back to an office to find that connection. It can be something as simple as going to a coffee shop, visiting a park, or having a conversation with someone during the day. Those small interactions can create a sense of belonging.

I would also pay attention to patterns in your own behavior. Everyone has a rough day when they want some time alone. That is not unusual. But if you consistently lose interest in things you normally enjoy, have trouble sleeping, withdraw from friends, feel persistently sad, or struggle to concentrate, it may be time to check in with yourself and make sure you are getting the connection and support you need.

Ultimately, these stories remind us to stay informed, listen to our bodies, and recognize how much our health depends on the care, choices, and connections in our everyday lives.

Hi Jimi,

Healing from trauma is a complex thing, and a key part of my work has been developing a framework to help map and navigate this process.

This framework sits at the heart of Therapeutic Coaching® and I'm super excited to be offering a free replay of my three-hour workshop on Wednesday, November 11th, on how we work with trauma in Therapeutic Coaching®.

Over the course of the workshop, my co-creator Anna Duschinsky and I will explore how trauma shapes experience, how to work with it in a way that supports regulation and avoids re-traumatisation, and how to create the conditions for real, lasting change.

During the workshop, you’ll:

  • See a demonstration of Therapeutic Coaching® in action
  • Experience the methodology first-hand through guided exercises
  • Come away with a real sense of what this approach could mean for you
Whether you’re on your own healing journey or you’re a practitioner looking to support clients with trauma safely and effectively, this is a chance to experience the work up close.

Restoring people's faith in their own bodies is exactly why we created this series.

But what we uncovered in the premiere was just laying the foundation – today, we're taking you deep inside your very own bloodstream.

In today's global premiere of Episode #2, "When Arteries Are Under Attack: Discovering the Science of Cardiovascular Disease Formation, Early Signs and Symptoms"...

Our experts break down exactly how cardiovascular disease begins – long before a conventional doctor ever detects a problem.

You'll discover the microscopic battles happening inside your blood vessels, the true role of cholesterol, and the surprisingly early physical warning signs your body gives you when things are starting to go wrong.

Learning this might feel a bit overwhelming at first.

You might even feel a wave of frustration realizing that most people never see the full picture of their arterial health.

But as you keep watching, that frustration will quickly transform into absolute empowerment.

Because once you understand the actual mechanics of how plaque forms, why vessels stiffen, and what damages your delicate vascular lining, the path to protecting yourself becomes crystal clear.

You will realize that you aren't at the mercy of a random cardiovascular failure. You have the ability to repair, reverse, and maintain this incredible system.

However, you need to hurry because Episode #2 won't be live for long...

In my many years of teaching, I've met so many people who have devoted themselves to healing, learning, and understanding themselves more deeply.

And something I hear often is that even when we understand ourselves very well, our bodies may still respond in familiar ways. We experience tension, fear, or contraction, even when we know there is another possibility.

This is something I would love to explore with you.

On Tuesday, November 10, I'm offering a free online gathering called The Missing Piece of Healing and Awakening.

We'll explore how Wisdom Healing Qigong helps us move from understanding something with the mind to experiencing it more fully in the body.

One of the things I love about this practice is how it can change even the simplest moments of our lives.

Imagine drinking a cup of tea. When you are truly connected with your body, you feel your hand reaching for the cup, the warmth as you hold it, the experience of drinking. Something so ordinary becomes an opportunity to feel more alive and connected.

This is what I want to share with you, an opportunity to experience your own body, your own Chi, and the connection we create when we practice together.
